Diangkat dari komik marvel terkenal iron man bercerita tentang Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), pemilik perusahaan peralatan perang terkenal yang menyuplai amerika untuk perang di timur tengah. Ketika sedang berada di timur tengah untuk menguji rudal miliknya, ia diculik oleh pemberontak disana dan disandra untuk membuat senjata bagi para pemberontak. Alih-alih membuat senjata ia malah membuat pakaian tempur dari bahan dasar rudal untuk membebaskan dirinya dari penculikan.

Ketika sudah bebas, ia menemukan bahwa terdapat konspirasi besar yang akan merubah bentuk dunia dengan adanya penciptaan energi dan alat perang yang luar biasa. Dibantu oleh sekretarisnya Virginia "Pepper" Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Ia membangun kembali pakaian tempurnya dengan lebih sempurna dan berusaha mengambil kendali atas perusahaannya yang direbut oleh Jim "Rhodey" Rhodes (Terrence Howard) CEO perusahaannya sendiri. Dan menyelamatkan dunia dari kehancuran.

Sinopsis (English)

Appointed from the famous iron man marvel comic tells the story of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr..), the owner of the famous armaments company that supplies the United States to war in the Middle East. When it was in the middle east to test his missile, he was kidnapped by rebels there and disandra to make weapons for the rebels. Instead of making a weapon he instead made garments from basic ingredients missile combat to free himself from the kidnapping.
